Budget-friendly cities in Europe?
Hi everyone,
I’m pretty new to the community, but I’m hoping you guys will be able to help me settle in well and give me lots of advice for my upcoming adventures!
I’m planning on taking a little city break later this year (as long as covid conditions continue to improve, of course) but like always, I’m coming up blank on city suggestions!
Does anyone know any interesting cities to visit in Europe that are preferably budget-friendly? I don’t plan on staying in a hostel, so I’m looking for places with decent hotels and BNB’s that won’t break the bank too much!
For reference, I love to take travel pictures, so anywhere picturesque with lots of interesting sites would be perfect! I’m also from Poland so please no Warsaw or Krakow suggestions 😂🤦🏼♀️

Hi @Monika and welcome to the community! I’m sure our members will have plenty of travel tips and advice for you ☺️
I personally recommend Amsterdam! It’s not the cheapest of places for accommodation, but if you’re willing to use the public transport there or even hire your own bike you can find lovely hotel rooms for super cheap prices!
You can visit all the art museums, check out the tulip gardens (very picturesque), and of course, there are all the other tourist attractions, too. The streets are all beautifully cobbled and there are canals dotted everywhere within the city which look beautiful all year round!
Plus, the food is amazing – you need to try a stroopwafel 🤤

@Monika Ljubljana in Slovenia is a good shout! If you’re into architecture and lots of green spaces it’s a nice little place to visit and it’s so cheap it’s unreal! The city has won awards for being so environmentally friendly so that shows just how much they take care of the place!
